Hi! I’m Alex – a curious traveler, history enthusiast, and cruise lover based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Travel has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Whether it’s a quick weekend getaway nearby or a long-haul flight to the other side of the world, I’m always up for the next adventure. There’s just something about stepping into a new place – hearing unfamiliar languages, tasting new foods, walking streets steeped in stories – that makes me feel fully alive.
Over the years, I’ve had the chance to explore some incredible places:
- The UK (London has a special place in my heart – I’ve been three times and would go back tomorrow if I could!)
- Thailand
- France
- Spain
- Malta
- All over the US
- Canada
- Bermuda
- The Bahamas
- Italy & Sicily
- The Netherlands

I also love cruising – there’s something so relaxing and magical about waking up in a new port with the ocean as your backdrop. Cruising gives you a little taste of everything, and it’s one of my favorite ways to discover new places.

Beyond the travel itself, I’m really passionate about history. I’m the type of traveler who reads the plaques, takes the walking tours, and gets excited over old ruins and castles. I believe every place has a story – and that travel is one of the best ways to learn, grow, and connect with the world (and with yourself).
Why I Started This Blog
I’ve had so many incredible experiences – and plenty of travel lessons learned the hard way – that I wanted a space to share it all. Whether you’re a seasoned traveler, planning your first big trip, or just love exploring from the comfort of your couch, I hope my stories, tips, and honest reflections can inspire and inform.
I’ll be sharing travel guides, personal adventures, cruise tips, and historical highlights from the places I visit. Some posts will take you across the globe; others will keep things close to home here in the Carolinas. All of them will be 100% me – thoughtful, a little nerdy, and hopefully helpful!
Thanks for being here. I’m so excited to share this journey with you.
See you on the road (or at sea),
Alex
